The New South Wales police commissioner Andrew Scipione has been dragged right into the heart of a 15 year old police bugging scandal following evidence at the New South Wales parlaimentary inquiry he had be warned police investigators were using illegal means to try and entrap police officers. A former investigator in the controversial police corruption purge told a New South Wales parliamentary inquiry today he had emailed commissioner Scipione in 2001, just weeks after Mr Scipione had taken over as commander of the internal affairs unit. Concerns raised included unit investigators using fabricated evidence and illegal phone taps to try and entrap police.
