Imagining animals with Patricia Piccinini

Menagerie is a group exhibition at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) in Melbourne.

It explores the representation of animals in art.

One of the artists featured in the show is internationally acclaimed artist Patricia Piccinini.

She creates sculptures and installations that challenge our ideas about what it is to be human and how animals are used to enhance our lives.

The works in the Menagerie exhibition, however, are delicate pencil drawings of female bodies surrounded by hummingbirds.

Producer Sarah L'Estrange visits Patricia Piccinini's studio in Collingwood, inner-city Melbourne, to discuss the role of animals in her artwork.
