Truckie pay rate legislation 'completely separate' to ABCC: Employment Minister Michaelia Cash(Michael Brissenden)

The Federal Government will introduce legislation on April the 18th to delay the introduction of new minimum pay rates for long-haul truck drivers until January next year. The Employment Minister Michaelia Cash says it is a 'completely separate piece of legislation' to the ABCC. Ms Cash says the minimum pay rates will not affect safety practices in the industry and are just a way to force truck drivers into becoming employer drivers 'and ultimately members of the Transport Workers Union'.
