Sydney Dance Company's Cacti()

The Sydney Dance Company is touring a very tongue-in-cheek dance work called Cacti, which sends up the pretentiousness of art critics in a very post-modern way.

It's by Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman, and it's part of an SDC double bill called Countermove.

The Artistic Director of the Sydney Dance Company, Rafael Bonachela, has choreographed a new work to be staged alongside Cacti, called Lux Tenebris.

We speak to Alexander and Rafael about who's to blame for the convoluted and inaccessible language that is often used to discuss contemporary dance, and the relationship between the choreographer and their critics.
