If the past is a foreign country what is the global future? Can artists lead the way in imagining the future?

Alex Kelly is a filmmaker and activist who argues that we need new narratives to create the kind of world we want and that artists can be the vehicle to drive social change.

But performance artist Stelarc is less convinced - he suggests that the human body is becoming obsolete, that everything is socially constructed and that far from being speculative, the future is being determined right now.
