New research has found that per capita, Australia has one of the highest rates of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders in the world.

Earlier studies show that Australia, along with Ireland and New Zealand have the highest drinking rates among pregnant women in the world.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders put enormous strain on families - and our health and court systems. Researchers are at a loss to explain why Australian women are not getting the message about drinking while pregnant.
