After the collapse of the Berlin Wall, hundreds of thousands of Jewish people from Eastern Europe migrated to Germany. They had Jewish ancestry but it was in Germany that they had their first opportunity to learn about and practise their religion. 

Julia Lwowski is one of these migrants and also an Opera Director.  In Germany she has worked on productions of Wagner’s Das Rheingold. Join Julia and Australian-Jewish producer David Hecht as they explore this group of people with a unique identity.
