Terry Pratchett was an English author of fantasy novels. His Discworld series is 40 volumes. He has sold more than 85 million books in 37 languages. During the 1990s, Pratchett was the UK’s best-selling author. Terry Pratchett suffered early onset Alzheimer’s Disease and died in March 2015 aged 66. He donated nearly half-a-million pounds to Alzheimer’s research and was the subject of a two-part BBC documentary about his life and illness.

Physicist Len Fisher presents this tribute to Terry Pratchett. He says the scientific references, and scientific thinking in Pratchett’s novels are too often overlooked.
