Channel Nine journalist gets lit cigarette stubbed in face outside Caboolture court
A Channel Nine journalist has had a lit cigarette stubbed in her face outside a court north of Brisbane by a woman supporting a murder accused.
The woman, who was pushing a pram, put the cigarette into the face of reporter Alex Bernhardt outside the court in Caboolture this morning.
She was at the court to support Stevee Jane Kennedy, 22, who was charged with murder after the death of a man at Caboolture on Sunday.
Video footage of the incident shows the woman light up a cigarette and blow smoke in the face of reporters who try to interview her following the court appearance.
Bernhardt is then jabbed in the face with the cigarette as she attempts to interview the woman, who is walking away.
A man can also be heard growling at the media.
Police have since charged the 23-year-old woman with public nuisance over the incident.
The matter in court was related to an incident on Sunday where a man walked into a Caboolture service station for help about 1:15am (AEST), with a stab wound to the abdomen.
An ambulance was called and the 26-year-old father was taken to Caboolture Hospital, but died a short time later.
Kennedy's matter has been adjourned until next month.
