Young minds, the highs and lows

Adolescence and young adulthood is a time of life dominated by highs and lows – it’s part of normal development, but it’s also the time when people are at greatest risk of developing mental illness.  In the past our mental health services have been geared towards children or adults, often not offering appropriate and effective support for youth. We hear about some new approaches to assisting young people when they are at the most vulnerable.

This program won the 2013 Mental Health Services Media Achievement Award, along with I Hurt Myself – the secrecy of self harm (http://ab.co/1c0gIaE)   Broadcast 29th April  2012)
