Easter Uprising with Geraldine Doogue

In 1916 there was a small and chaotic insurgency that caught many civilians in Dublin, not to mention the British, by surprise. Led by a handful of rebel leaders, the Irish held out for six days before the British took back control. But it was in the execution of rebel leaders and others in the days that followed, that Britain lost Ireland. Geraldine Doogue has travelled to Dublin to observe the one hundred year commemorations as well as exploring the connection with her family.
