Nauru opposition figure sneaks out of the country(Michael Walsh)

Nauru opposition political figure Roland Kun has returned to his family in New Zealand, after managing to leave the country over the weekend.

Mr Kun is one of five opposition MPs who were suspended from parliament for two years and his passport was confiscated last year.

This move prevented him from seeing his wife and three young children, who live in New Zealand.

But Mr Kun has now been reunited with his family, after the New Zealand government granted him citizenship and a new passport little more than a week ago.

Mr Kun's barrister, Professor Claudia Geiringer.
