Study says refugees are settling well into regional Australia

Refugees who fled Syria and Iraq are successfully integrating into regional Australian communities, according to new research being unveiled today.

The study tracks some of the 12,000 refugees the federal government accepted as part of a special one-off intake in 2015.

The first data from a three-year project has found those sent to regional areas feel safe and accepted, despite struggling to find employment.
