People of Timor-Leste vote for president

The people of Timor-Leste went to the polls today, voting in the country's fourth presidential election since independence.

Former independence fighter Francisco 'Lú-Olo' Guterres is expected to receive wide support.

Damien Kingsbury has coordinated multiple international observation efforts of Timor-Leste elections since their 1999 ballot for independence, and spent the day in Bobonaro District, near the border with Indonesia.
