Queanbeyan teen threatened family members with knife after they denied her ice-cream, court told
A 14-year-old girl allegedly threatened two family members with a knife when she was denied ice-cream, the Queanbeyan Children's Court has heard.
The court heard the teenager was hungry after "a big night out" in Queanbeyan on Thursday and "went off" after being denied ice-cream and pasta for breakfast.
Police have alleged the teen threatened family members including her grandmother with a knife and damaged a wall in an incident that also breached an apprehended violence order (AVO).
She faced court on Sunday morning charged with malicious damage, two counts of intimidation, breaching bail and breaching an AVO.
The registrar of the court denied bail saying he had "sufficient concern for the safety of the victims and members of the community".
He also said he was concerned the teen would commit more serious offences if she was granted bail.
She is expected to return to court on Monday.
