Lancaster Q for Queenie flies under the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1943

During World War Two Peter Isaacson flew 45 sorties as a pilot with Bomber Command. During his time in the air he sat behind the controls on iconic aircraft including the Vickers Wellington and the Handley Page Halifax but it was in the Avro Lancaster that he is perhaps best remembered by Sydneysiders. In 1943 brought one of the British made planes out to Australia and Peter was chosen to fly the craft under one of the city's most iconic structures - the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Peter Isaacson passed away on the weekend at the age of 96. His son, Tony joined Robbie to remember his father's aerial exploits.
