There have been few details and little transparency over the long term financial implications of China's aid and loan program to the Pacific.

A new study by the Lowy Institute has found that concerns that China has created a 'debt-trap' for Pacific nations are overblown, but it warns there are clear future risks.

Jonathan Pryke joins RN Breakfast and is director of the Lowy Institute's Pacific Islands program and one of the authors of the new report.
