Australian climate policy "ignoring" billions in health savings

Health professionals are warning the Government could save billions of dollars in health care costs by doing more to tackle pollution and climate change.

They argue the energy and transport sectors alone are causing at least six billion dollars in health care costs every year.

And they're urging the Coalition to take lessons from countries like the United Kingdom which have linked their climate policy to the health of their populations.
