Nathan Godfrey, Race Director of the Kangaroo Island marathon, tells Ali Clarke how he worked with a London company on an alternative to the plastic cups found littered in the aftermath of every marathon.

The biodegradable pods are made of seaweed and filled with water, but they won’t taste like sushi.

He hopes South Australia could soon be the home of seaweed pod production.
